Timber Sales

Good communication and a strong contract are important aspects of a timber sale. Our procedures are designed to achieve these goals:

We will consult with you to address questions or concerns you may have, and to determine what your goals are. We will have someone walk your woodlot with you, and determine what type of harvest, if any, would be best for you. We will then select, mark and measure the trees to be harvested

Next comes the competitive bidding process, which we commence by preparing a bid prospectus that includes the species, number and size of trees to be sold. When the bid is awarded, with your approval, we will draw up the timber sale contracts.

As your Agent and Consultant, we will hold a cash bond from the purchaser of your timber. The purpose of the bond is to ensure the proper cleanup of the woods, road repair and contract compliance.

Once the harvest begins, I will make periodic inspections of the site to make sure the terms of the contract are being followed.
